INGREDIENTS
Blackberry Base
- Cooking spray
- 5 cups fresh blackberries
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 🍋 2 tablespoons lemon juice
Batter
- 1 (15.8 ounce) package lemon-poppy seed muffin mix
- 🥚 1 egg
- 🥛 1/3 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Topping
- 1/2 cup butter at room temperature
- 1 cup brown sugar
STEPS
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and spray a 9x9-inch baking pan with cooking spray.
Spread blackberries into the prepared pan. Sprinkle with white sugar and drizzle with lemon juice.
In a bowl, mix muffin mix, egg, milk, and cinnamon until just moistened, leaving lumps. Pour batter over blackberries.
Mix butter and brown sugar with an electric mixer on medium speed until coarse crumbs form. Spread this over the batter.
Bake for 1 hour, until the topping is browned and blackberries are bubbling. Let stand for 20 minutes before serving.
