INGREDIENTS
Marinade
- 2 cups white wine
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 🍗 4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
Blackened Seasoning
- 🧂 1 tablespoon salt
- 2 teaspoons onion powder
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon ground white pepper
- 2 teaspoons cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon oregano
Chipotle Aioli
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon fresh chives, chopped
- 1 clove garlic
- 1 teaspoon lime juice
- 1/2 teaspoon ground chipotle chili powder
Caramelized Onion
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 🧅 1 large onion, sliced into rings
Assembly
- 4 slices American cheese
STEPS
Mix white wine, soy sauce, lime juice, and Worcestershire sauce together in a resealable bag; add chicken and seal bag. Marinate chicken in the refrigerator for 8 to 24 hours.
Prepare blackened seasoning by combining salt, onion powder, sugar, black pepper, white pepper, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, and oregano in a bowl. Transfer to a shaker or an air-tight container.
Prepare chipotle aioli by processing mayonnaise, chives, garlic, lime juice, chipotle chili powder, and seasonings in a food processor until smooth. Store in an air-tight container in the refrigerator.
Caramelize onions by heating olive oil and butter in a skillet over medium heat; cook sliced onions for about 5 minutes until softened. Lower the heat to medium-low and cook for an additional 30 minutes until dark brown.
Remove chicken from marinade and pat dry. Spray chicken pieces with cooking spray and sprinkle with blackened seasoning.
Pan-fry chicken in butter and olive oil for about 5 minutes per side until fully cooked and juices run clear.
Assemble sliders by layering chicken, cheese, caramelized onion, and chipotle aioli on buns to form sandwiches.
