INGREDIENTS
Dry Ingredients
- 2 ½ teaspoons active dry yeast
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- 🧂 1 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
- 🍯 3 tablespoons honey
- 1 ½ tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 ½ cups buttermilk, at room temperature
STEPS
Combine the yeast, whole wheat flour, all-purpose flour, baking soda, salt, honey, vegetable oil, and buttermilk into the pan of a bread machine.
If baking in a bread machine, use the medium temperature setting to bake.
If baking in an oven, use the manual or dough cycle on the bread machine to knead the dough. Remove it from the bread maker and place it in a greased loaf pan.
Let the dough rise until doubled in size.
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the bread for 25 minutes or until the bottom of the loaf sounds hollow when tapped.
