INGREDIENTS
Dairy
- 🧈 1/4 cup butter
- 🥛 2 1/2 cups half and half
- 🧀 2/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese, plus more for garnish

- 🧄 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 🥔 2 1/2 pounds russet potatoes, peeled and sliced 1/8-inch thick
Condiments
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 🍋 2 teaspoons lemon zest
- 🍋 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Spices & Seasonings
- 🧂 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
Dry Ingredients
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
STEPS
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
Melt butter in a saucepan and cook onion and garlic until soft and translucent, about 6 minutes.
Stir in flour, salt, and pepper and cook for 1 minute.
Add half-and-half and cook until thickened and bubbly, about 4 minutes.
Stir in Parmesan cheese, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, lemon zest, and lemon juice until cheese is melted, about 1 minute.
Arrange half the potato slices in the prepared dish and pour half of the sauce over them. Repeat with remaining potatoes and sauce. Cover with foil.
Bake in the oven for 45 minutes.
Uncover and bake until potatoes are tender, 40 to 45 minutes.
Let the dish stand for 10 minutes before serving. Garnish with Parmesan cheese and chives if desired.
