INGREDIENTS
Main
- 🐟 2 fillets Spanish mackerel
- 🧂 Pinch of salt and pepper
- 🍞 3 tbsp breadcrumbs
- Sufficient vegetable oil for frying
Batter
- 🌾 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 🧀 2 tbsp grated cheese
- 💧 5 tbsp water
Garnish
- 🥬 Sufficient baby leaves for garnish
- 🍋 1/8 lemon
STEPS
Cut the Spanish mackerel into bite-sized pieces, season with salt and pepper, and pat dry.
In a bowl, mix the batter ingredients (flour, grated cheese, and water) until smooth.
Dip the mackerel pieces into the batter, then coat with breadcrumbs.
Heat vegetable oil in a pot to 180°C (356°F) and fry the mackerel pieces for about 4 minutes, turning occasionally, until cooked through.
Serve on a plate with baby leaves and a wedge of lemon.
