INGREDIENTS
Main Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pounds frozen chicken nuggets
- 🥚 8 large eggs
- 1 1/3 cups half-and-half
- 🧂 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 🧈 4 tablespoons butter, melted
Optional Toppings
- Maple syrup for drizzling
STEPS
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
Arrange the frozen waffles on a baking sheet and toast in the oven for about 4 minutes per side until lightly crisp.
Cut each waffle into 8 pieces and layer them in the prepared baking dish.
Cut larger chicken nuggets in half, leaving smaller pieces whole, and place them between the waffle pieces.
Whisk together the eggs, half-and-half, kosher salt, cayenne pepper, and 2 tablespoons of melted butter in a bowl until frothy.
Pour the whisked mixture evenly over the waffles and chicken. Cover and let it sit for 15 minutes so it absorbs.
Bake the dish uncovered for the first 30 minutes, then cover and bake for an additional 30 minutes.
Remove the casserole from the oven and allow it to cool for 5-10 minutes. Drizzle with melted butter and maple syrup before serving.
