INGREDIENTS
Main
- 🍗 1 chicken thigh (250g)
- đź§… 1/2 onion, thinly sliced
- 🥕 1/2 carrot, julienned
- 10 shiso leaves, julienned
- đź§‚ Pinch of salt and pepper
- Potato starch, as needed
- 3 tbsp salad oil
Nanban Sauce
- 🍬 2 tbsp sugar
- 4 tbsp vinegar
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- đź’§ 150ml water
- 1/2 tsp sliced chili
STEPS
Thinly slice the onion, julienne the carrot, and cut the shiso leaves into thin strips.
Cut the chicken thigh into bite-sized pieces, season with salt and pepper, and coat with potato starch.
Mix the Nanban Sauce ingredients in a tray, then add the onion, carrot, and half of the shiso leaves.
Heat salad oil in a frying pan over medium heat and fry the chicken until crispy, about 3–4 minutes.
Add the fried chicken to the sauce while still hot and let it marinate for 10 minutes. Sprinkle the remaining shiso leaves before serving.
