INGREDIENTS
Sauce
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
Main
- 1 pound 80% lean ground beef
- 6 slices American cheese or Cheddar cheese
- 1 (12 ounce) package Hawaiian sweet rolls
- 1 cup shredded iceberg lettuce
- 1 small white onion
STEPS
Gather all ingredients.
Mix mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, garlic powder, and paprika in a small bowl until well combined. Season with salt and pepper. Set aside.
Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned, approximately 8 minutes. Drain excess fat if preferred.
Lower heat slightly, lay cheese slices over the beef, and allow them to melt for 3 minutes. Chop the beef and cheese together to achieve a chopped cheese texture.
Slice Hawaiian rolls horizontally, keeping them connected. Spread sauce on both halves of the rolls.
Evenly distribute the beef and cheese mixture over the bottom half of the rolls. Top with shredded lettuce, onion, and any additional toppings like pickles before placing the top buns back on.
