INGREDIENTS
Chocolate and Baking
- 🍫 4 ounces Ghirardelli Semi-Sweet Chocolate Baking Bar
- 🧈 ½ cup unsalted butter, cut into pieces
- 🍫 ½ cup Ghirardelli Semi-Sweet Chocolate Baking Chips
Dry Ingredients
- 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- ¾ cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 🧂 ⅜ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon baking powder
Wet Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 🥚 2 large eggs
STEPS
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Butter and flour an 8-inch square baking pan.
Chop the baking bar into 1-inch pieces; transfer to the top of a double boiler or heatproof bowl.
Add butter to chopped chocolate; place over barely simmering water. Melt until smooth, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and cool to room temperature.
Stir brown sugar and vanilla into melted chocolate mixture. Add eggs and mix well.
Sift flour, salt, and baking powder into a bowl. Fold into the chocolate mixture until blended. Stir in chocolate chips; pour into the prepared pan.
Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted comes out clean, about 25-30 minutes. Cool for at least 10 minutes before cutting.
