INGREDIENTS
Cupcake Batter
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 🍚 2 cups white sugar
- 🍫 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 🧂 1 teaspoon salt
- 🥚 2 large eggs
- 🥛 1 cup milk
- 💧 1 cup water
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Cream Filling
- 🧈 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup shortening
- 2 cups confectioners' sugar
- 🧂 1 pinch salt
- 🥛 3 tablespoons milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
STEPS
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line 36 muffin cups with paper liners.
In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Create a well in the middle and add eggs, milk, water, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
Fill each muffin cup halfway with the batter.
Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the cupcakes to cool completely.
Make the cream filling: In a large bowl, beat the butter and shortening until smooth. Gradually add confectioners' sugar, salt, milk, and vanilla extract while mixing until light and fluffy.
Transfer the cream filling to a pastry bag with a small tip. Push the tip through the bottom of each cupcake liner and pipe the filling into the cupcake.
