INGREDIENTS
Base
- π§ 1 tablespoon butter, softened, for greasing
- π 1 (6 ounce) package spaghetti
Crust Mixture
- π§ β cup grated Parmesan cheese
- π₯ 2 large eggs, beaten
- π§ 2 tablespoons butter
Filling
- π 1 pound lean ground beef
- π§ Β½ cup chopped onion
- ΒΌ cup chopped green bell pepper
- π§ 1 clove garlic, minced
- π 1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes
- π 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
- π§ 1 teaspoon white sugar
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
Toppings
- 1 cup cottage cheese
- π§ Β½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
STEPS
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 10-inch pie plate with 1 tablespoon butter.
Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Cook spaghetti in boiling water until tender yet firm to the bite, about 12 minutes. Drain and return to the pot.
Stir Parmesan cheese, beaten eggs, and 2 tablespoons butter into hot spaghetti. Form mixture into a crust in the prepared pie plate.
Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook beef, onion, bell pepper, and garlic until beef browns, about 5β7 minutes. Drain fat, then add tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, and oregano. Stir and heat through.
Spread cottage cheese over the spaghetti crust, then pour the beef-tomato mixture over it.
Bake the pie in the oven for 20 minutes. Sprinkle mozzarella over the top and bake for an additional 5 minutes until melted.
