INGREDIENTS
Seafood
- 🦐 12–16 medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
Oil
- 1.5 tbsp sesame oil
Vegetables
- 🧅 1/3 stalk green onion, finely chopped
- 1 tsp minced ginger
- 🧄 1/2 tsp minced garlic
Condiments
- 1 tsp doubanjiang (chili bean paste)
- 1 tbsp ketchup
Marinade
- 🥚 1/2 egg white
- 1/2 tbsp cornstarch
- 🧂 Pinch of salt and pepper
Sauce
- 💧 1/3 cup water
- 1/2 tsp chicken bouillon powder
- 2/3 tbsp sake
- 🍬 1 tsp sugar
- 2/3 tsp vinegar
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- 1.5 tsp cornstarch dissolved in water
STEPS
Prepare the shrimp by peeling, deveining, and marinating with egg white, cornstarch, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
Mix all sauce ingredients (water, chicken bouillon, sake, sugar, vinegar, soy sauce, and cornstarch mixture) in a bowl and set aside.
Heat sesame oil in a pan over medium heat. Add minced ginger, garlic, and doubanjiang. Stir-fry until fragrant.
Add the shrimp to the pan and stir-fry until they turn pink and are cooked through.
Pour the prepared sauce into the pan and stir until the sauce thickens and coats the shrimp evenly.
Garnish with chopped green onions and serve hot.
