INGREDIENTS
Main Ingredients
- 🍗 1 pack chicken wings
- 🍘 10 rice cakes
- 🧅 1 stalk green onion
- 💧 1 cup water
- 10-15 whole peppercorns
- 1 tbsp corn syrup
Seasonings
- 🧂 5 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp cooking wine
- 2 tbsp corn syrup
- 🍬 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tbsp ginger syrup
- 1 tbsp plum extract
- 🧄 1 tbsp minced garlic
- A dash of ground pepper
STEPS
Prepare 1 pack of chicken wings, 10 rice cakes, and 1 stalk of green onion. (Rice cakes are optional.)
Blanch the chicken wings with 1 tbsp cooking wine and 10-15 whole peppercorns to remove impurities.
Rinse the blanched chicken wings under cold water and drain them in a colander.
Mix all the seasonings to create the sauce.
Heat oil in a deep pan and sear the blanched chicken wings until golden on both sides.
Add 1 cup of water to the pan and simmer the chicken until fully cooked.
Pour the prepared sauce over the chicken and let it simmer to reduce.
Once the chicken starts to absorb the sauce, add the rice cakes and green onion. Continue simmering.
When the sauce is almost fully reduced, add 1 tbsp of corn syrup for a glossy finish.
