INGREDIENTS
Wet Ingredients
- 🍚 1 cup white sugar
- 🧈 ½ cup butter
- 🥚 1 large egg
Dry Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 🧂 ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon ground cloves (Optional)
Fruits and Nuts
- 🍇 1 cup chopped fresh figs
- ½ cup chopped walnuts
STEPS
Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease baking sheets.
Beat sugar and butter in a large mixing bowl with an electric beater until lighter in color; mix in beaten egg.
Sift flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and cloves into a separate bowl; stir into butter mixture. Fold in figs and walnuts.
Drop spoonfuls of dough 2 inches apart onto the prepared baking sheets.
Bake in the preheated oven until edges are golden, about 15 to 20 minutes.
