INGREDIENTS
Dry Ingredients
- 🌾 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 🧂 ½ cup white sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon baking soda
- 🧂 ¼ teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
- 🧈 1 stick frozen unsalted butter
- 🍶 ½ cup sour cream
- 🥚 1 large egg
Fruits
- 2 cups frozen blueberries
STEPS
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
Place flour, 1/2 cup sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt into a food processor. Pulse to combine. Add frozen butter and process until a fine crumb results and no chunks of butter are left.
Transfer mixture into the bowl of a stand mixer or a mixing bowl. Add sour cream and egg, then mix on medium speed until crumbs clump together and pull away from the sides. Add blueberries and mix briefly to combine.
Take half of the dough and place it on a floured surface. Shape it into a 1/2-inch thick disc about 8 inches in diameter. Cut into 8 triangles and transfer to a baking sheet. Repeat with the remaining dough. Sprinkle a pinch of sugar on top of each scone.
Bake in the preheated oven until the tops are golden, about 17 to 22 minutes.
