INGREDIENTS
Brownie Base
- 🍫 3 ounces dark chocolate, chopped
- 🧈 ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 🥚 2 large eggs
- 🧂 1 ¼ cups granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¾ teaspoon kosher salt
- ⅔ cup all-purpose flour
Cheesecake Layer
- ½ (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
- 🧂 2 tablespoons white sugar
- 🥚 1 large egg white
- ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract
STEPS
Grease an 8x8 baking dish and line with parchment paper.
Place chopped chocolate in a heatproof bowl. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat, pour over chocolate, let sit for 5 minutes, and mix until melted.
Combine eggs and sugar, and mix on high speed with an electric mixer until pale yellow. Add vanilla extract and salt, mix for 1 minute.
Mix in the chocolate-butter mixture for 30 seconds. Fold in flour until just combined. Reserve 2 teaspoons of brownie batter.
Transfer the batter into the baking dish and smooth the top.
For cheesecake, combine softened cream cheese, sugar, egg white, and vanilla extract in a bowl. Whisk until smooth.
Place 9 cheesecake dollops on the brownie batter in an even pattern. Shape ghost outlines using a spoon or skewer.
Transfer brownie batter into a plastic bag, cut the corner, and pipe ghost eyes and mouths.
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake in the center of the oven for 35 to 40 minutes.
Cool brownies completely before transferring to a plate and cutting into squares. Serve and enjoy!
