INGREDIENTS
Pecans
- 🌰 1 ¼ cups chopped pecans
Sugar
- 🟫 ¾ cup brown sugar
- ¼ cup white sugar
Sweetener
- ¾ cup light corn syrup
Flour
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
Butter
- 🧈 ½ cup butter, melted and cooled
Eggs
- 🥚 4 large eggs
Spirits
- 2 tablespoons bourbon
Flavoring
- 1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract
Chocolate
- 🍫 ¾ cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips
Pie Crust
- 1 (9 inch) unbaked deep-dish pie crust
STEPS
Preheat the oven to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C) and spread pecans out on a cookie sheet.
Bake pecans in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, stirring halfway through. Continue to bake until toasted, checking and stirring every 15 minutes, for up to 30 more minutes. Remove from the oven and let cool completely.
Increase the oven temperature to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Whisk brown sugar, corn syrup, flour, butter, white sugar, eggs, bourbon, and vanilla together in a bowl until smooth. Fold in cooled pecan pieces and chocolate chips until combined. Pour mixture into pie crust.
Bake in the preheated oven until pie is set, 50 to 60 minutes. Serve warm or chilled.
