INGREDIENTS
Main
- 1 large hanpen (120g)
- 5g dried hijiki
- 🥕 30g carrot, julienned
Condiments
- 1 tbsp mayonnaise
Seasonings
- 1 tbsp sake
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- đź§‚ Pinch of salt and pepper
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
STEPS
Soak dried hijiki in a bowl of water according to package instructions, then drain thoroughly.
Julienne the carrot and place it in a microwave-safe container with 1 tbsp water. Cover loosely with plastic wrap and microwave at 600W for 1 minute. Drain and let cool.
Place the hanpen in a plastic bag and mash it until smooth.
Combine the hijiki, carrot, and seasonings (sake, soy sauce, salt, pepper, and cornstarch) with the mashed hanpen. Divide into 4 portions and shape into 1.5cm thick discs.
Heat mayonnaise in a frying pan over medium-low heat. Add the discs and cook for about 2 minutes on each side until golden brown.
