INGREDIENTS
Meat
- 60g ground chicken
Seafood
- 2 pieces (200g) hanpen
Vegetables
- 10cm (300g) daikon
- đź§… 5cm (15g) minced green onion
Seasonings
- 1/3 tsp grated ginger
- đź§‚ a pinch of salt
- 1/2 tsp Japanese dashi powder
- 1 tbsp sake
- 1 tbsp mirin
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 400ml water
STEPS
Use a peeler to thinly slice the daikon. For the remaining part, use a knife to slice thinly. Mince the green onion.
Cut each hanpen diagonally into four pieces. Make a slit in one side to create a pouch.
In a bowl, mix ground chicken, minced green onion, and the ginger and salt until sticky. Divide into 8 portions and stuff into the hanpen pouches.
In a pot, combine water, dashi powder, sake, mirin, soy sauce, and daikon. Heat over medium heat until simmering. Add the stuffed hanpen and cover. Cook on low heat for 6–7 minutes until the chicken is cooked through.
