    • 🧄 2 cloves garlic, minced
    • 🍖 1 ½ cups diced cooked ham

    • 1 small bay leaf
    • 🧂 1 ¼ teaspoons kosher salt
    • 🍋 ½ teaspoon lemon juice

STEPS

1

Turn on the pressure cooker and select the Sauté function. Add olive oil and warm it for a few minutes. Add chopped onion and celery; sauté for 2 minutes. Add carrots and sauté an additional 4 minutes. Add minced garlic and sauté for 2 minutes. Stir in cooked ham, lentils, basil, oregano, and thyme.

Pour in chicken broth, tomato sauce, and water. Stir in the bay leaf.

3

Close and lock the lid of the pressure cooker. Select high pressure for 8 minutes and allow 10 to 15 minutes for the pressure to build.

4

Release pressure using the natural-release method, which can take anywhere from 10 to 40 minutes. Carefully remove the lid and discard the bay leaf.

💡 For a vegetarian option, omit the ham and use vegetable broth instead of chicken broth. If you'd like to save time, pre-chop your vegetables the night before. To add more flavor, consider adding smoked paprika or cumin to the soup.
