INGREDIENTS
Main Ingredients
- 🍚 ¾ cup short-grain rice
- 💧 1 cup water
- 🧂 1 teaspoon salt
- 🐟 4 ounces cooked salmon, flaked
- 🧂 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- 🌿 ½ sheet nori (dry seaweed)
STEPS
Pour rice into a bowl and rinse under running water. Scrub well with your hands to remove starch, then drain.
Place rice in a small pot with water and salt. Cover with a tight-fitting lid, turn burner to high, and cook for 2 minutes. Then reduce heat to low for 20 minutes.
Turn off the heat and let rice sit with the lid on to fully absorb moisture for 10 minutes.
Transfer rice to a cutting board to cool slightly.
Season flaked salmon with soy sauce.
Flatten cooled rice into a rectangle and divide into 6 portions.
Place one portion of seasoned salmon onto each section of rice. Wet your hands, pick up a portion of rice, and gently cup it around the filling.
Mold each rice ball into a triangle shape. Place a strip of nori at the bottom to make it easier to pick up.
Repeat the process to form remaining rice balls, wetting your hands as necessary to prevent sticking.
