INGREDIENTS
Main Ingredients
- 3 pounds baby back pork ribs
- 🍚 2 cups uncooked white rice
- 🧅 3 medium green onions, thinly sliced
Sauce Ingredients
- 🧂 ⅔ cup soy sauce
- ⅓ cup sake
- 🍯 3 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Other
- 💧 4 cups water
STEPS
Remove silverskin from back of ribs and pat ribs dry with paper towels. Cut into individual ribs.
Mix soy sauce, sake, and honey in a small bowl and set aside.
Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).
Heat olive oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Sear ribs in batches until browned, about 3 minutes per side. Remove ribs to a plate.
Drain excess oil from Dutch oven. Pour soy sauce mixture into the pot and scrape the bottom with a wooden spoon to release bits. Add ribs and bring liquid to a boil.
Cover the pot tightly and bake in the oven for 2½ hours, flipping ribs halfway through cooking time.
Meanwhile, bring water and rice to a boil in a saucepan. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer until rice is tender, about 20-25 minutes.
Serve ribs with sauce over rice and garnish with sliced green onion.
