INGREDIENTS
Main Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 🧅 2 tablespoons chopped onion
- ¼ cup green peas
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 ½ cups dry jasmine rice
- 💧 3 cups water
- 🧂 Salt to taste
STEPS
In a large saucepan over medium-low heat, warm the olive oil. Add the chopped onion and saute for 3 to 5 minutes.
Mix in the green peas, bay leaf, and jasmine rice. Stir to coat the rice evenly.
Pour 3 cups of water into the saucepan and add salt to taste. Increase heat to medium and bring the rice to a quick simmer.
Reduce the heat to low and let the rice simmer lightly, uncovered, until all the liquid is absorbed.
Cover the saucepan and remove it from the heat. Let the rice sit for about 40 minutes to finish cooking.
