Cut chicken into bite-sized pieces and green onions into 3cm lengths. Skewer chicken and green onions alternately on 10cm skewers.

Peel turnips, leaving 1cm of stem, and cut into 2–4 pieces. Wash thoroughly.

Cut chikuwa diagonally in half and slice konjac into bite-sized pieces. Pre-boil konjac to remove bitterness.

Combine dashi sauce and water in a pot and bring to a boil. Add all ingredients except turnips and tomatoes, cover, and simmer for 10 minutes.

Add turnips and simmer for another 10 minutes. Finally, add tomatoes and simmer briefly before serving.
