INGREDIENTS
Main Ingredients
- 400g rice cakes
- 2 sheets fish cakes
- đź§… 1/2 stalk green onion
- đź’§ 500ml water
Seasoning Ingredients
- 7 tbsp fine red pepper powder
- 🍬 1.5 tbsp sugar
- 0.5 tbsp beef stock powder
- 5 tbsp corn syrup
- 0.5 tsp MSG
- A pinch of black pepper
- đź’§ 1/2 shot glass water
- đź§‚ 1.5 tsp salt
STEPS
Mix the seasoning ingredients (red pepper powder, sugar, beef stock powder, corn syrup, MSG, black pepper, and water). Add salt only after tasting the tteokbokki later.
Let the mixed seasoning sauce rest for a day. If in a hurry, skip resting and proceed directly.
Combine the rested sauce with 100ml water in a pot. Add 500ml water, 300g rice cakes, and bring to a boil.
Once boiling, add green onions. Reduce heat to medium before adding the green onions.
Add fish cakes and simmer to your desired consistency.
Serve and enjoy. Optionally, add boiled eggs, fried items, or sundae as sides.
