INGREDIENTS
Oil
- 1 quart oil for frying
Dairy
- 🧀 2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
Seafood
- 1 (12 ounce) package imitation crabmeat, flaked
Vegetables
- 1 (5 ounce) can water chestnuts, drained and chopped
- 🧅 5 green onions, chopped
Condiments
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
Wraps
- 2 (14 ounce) packages wonton wrappers
STEPS
Heat oil in a large, heavy saucepan to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
Mix cream cheese, crabmeat, water chestnuts, green onions, and soy sauce together in a bowl.
Place about 1 teaspoon of cream cheese mixture in the center of each wonton wrapper. Fold the wrappers into triangles and seal with moistened fingers.
Working in small batches, fry wontons in the hot oil until golden brown, about 3 to 4 minutes per batch. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
