INGREDIENTS
Fish
- š 2 fillets (160g) mackerel
Vegetables
- 5cm (150g) daikon, grated
- 3 shiso leaves, thinly sliced
Seasoning
- Potato starch, as needed
- 2 tbsp salad oil
- 2 tbsp ponzu sauce
Marinade
- 1/2 tbsp sake
- š§ 1/2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1/2 tsp grated ginger
STEPS
Slice the shiso leaves thinly after removing the stems.
Cut the mackerel into bite-sized pieces and marinate in a mixture of sake, soy sauce, and grated ginger for 10 minutes.
Pat the mackerel dry with a paper towel and coat with potato starch.
Heat salad oil in a frying pan and fry the mackerel skin-side down until golden. Flip and cook for 2-3 minutes until fully cooked.
Grate the daikon and lightly squeeze out excess water.
Mix the grated daikon with the fried mackerel in a bowl. Serve on a plate, drizzle with ponzu sauce, and garnish with shiso leaves.
