INGREDIENTS
Vegetables
- 🥬 150g cabbage, roughly chopped
Seafood
- 25g mentaiko, cut into 4 pieces
Oil
- 1 tbsp salad oil
Cheese / Dairy
- đź§€ 30g pizza cheese
Batter
- 100g all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp Japanese dashi powder
- đź’§ 100ml water
- 🥚 1 egg
- 2 tbsp tempura flakes
Toppings
- Okonomiyaki sauce, as needed
- Mayonnaise, as needed
- Bonito flakes, as needed
- Aonori seaweed, as needed
STEPS
Chop the cabbage into rough pieces.
Cut the mentaiko into 4 equal pieces.
In a bowl, mix flour, dashi powder, and water. Add egg, tempura flakes, and cabbage. Mix gently to incorporate air into the batter.
Heat salad oil in a frying pan. Spread the batter into a round shape and place mentaiko on top. Cook over medium heat until golden brown.
Flip the pancake, add pizza cheese on top, cover with a lid, and cook over low-medium heat until the batter is fully cooked.
Serve on a plate and add toppings: okonomiyaki sauce, mayonnaise, bonito flakes, and aonori.
