INGREDIENTS
Vegetables
- 🥦 2 cups cauliflower
- 1 cup peas
- 🧅 1/4 cup onion
- 💧 2 tablespoons water
Dairy & Fats
- 🧈 1 1/2 teaspoons butter
- 🥛 1/2 cup milk
Seasonings and Add-ins
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 1/2 teaspoon parsley flakes
- 1/2 teaspoon chicken bouillon
- 🧂 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1 dash ground black pepper
- Pimiento (as required)
STEPS
Wash hands with soap and water.
Combine cauliflower, peas, and water in a 1-quart casserole. Cover and microwave at High for 6 to 8 minutes, stirring after half the time. Let stand, covered.
Place onion and butter in a 2-cup measuring dish. Microwave at High for 1 to 1 1/2 minutes, or until onion is tender.
Stir in flour and microwave for a few seconds until the flour mixture starts to bubble.
Add remaining ingredients (milk, parsley, bouillon, salt, pepper, and pimiento) and microwave at High for 1 1/2 to 2 minutes, stirring every minute until thickened.
Drain vegetables and save liquid for soups, if desired. Pour cream sauce over vegetables and stir to coat evenly.
