INGREDIENTS
Dry Ingredients
- 🌾 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 🧂 5 tablespoons seasoned salt
- 3 tablespoons garlic powder
- 🧂 Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
Wet Ingredients
- 🥚 4 large eggs, beaten
Protein
- 🍗 2 whole chickens (2 to 3 pounds each), cut into pieces
Cooking Oil
- 1 quart vegetable oil for frying
STEPS
Mix all-purpose flour, seasoned salt, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a shallow plate or bowl.
Place beaten eggs in a separate shallow bowl.
Coat chicken pieces in the flour mixture, then in beaten eggs, and coat again in the flour mixture. Place coated chicken on a platter.
Heat vegetable oil in a deep-fryer or large skillet to 375°F (190°C).
Fry the chicken pieces in hot oil for about 5 minutes on each side, then cover and cook over lower heat for 10 minutes. Remove the cover, increase the heat, and fry for another 5 minutes on each side until crispy and fully cooked (internal temperature should reach 165°F/74°C).
Drain the fried chicken on paper towels and keep warm in an oven until ready to serve.
