INGREDIENTS
Main
- 1 piece (250g) konnyaku
- đź§… 2 stalks white part of green onion
Cooking Oil
- 1/2 tbsp salad oil
Seasoning
- 1 tbsp sake
- 2 tbsp mirin
- 🍬 1/2 tbsp sugar
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- Pinch of chili powder
STEPS
Cut a lattice pattern on one side of the konnyaku using a negi cutter. Divide into 12 pieces. Place konnyaku in a microwave-safe container, add water to cover, loosely wrap with plastic wrap, and microwave at 600W for 3 minutes. Drain and let cool.
Cut the green onion into 6 equal pieces each.
Skewer konnyaku and green onion alternately, two pieces each per skewer. Make 6 skewers in total.
Heat salad oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Add the skewers and cook for 3–4 minutes until browned, then flip and cook for another 3–4 minutes. Cover and steam on low heat for 2 minutes. Turn off the heat, add the seasoning mix, and heat again on medium to coat evenly.
