INGREDIENTS
Vegetables
- 1/2 bunch chives
- 2 chikuwa sticks
Oil
- 1/2 tbsp sesame oil
Batter
- 30g fresh okara
- 3 tbsp potato starch
- 🥚 1 egg
- đź§‚ 1/3 tsp salt
- đź’§ 3 tbsp water
Sauce
- 1 tbsp vinegar
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp white sesame seeds
STEPS
Cut the chives into 4cm pieces and slice the chikuwa thinly.
In a bowl, mix the batter ingredients (okara, potato starch, egg, salt, and water). Add the chives and chikuwa, and mix well.
In a separate bowl, mix the sauce ingredients (vinegar, soy sauce, and sesame seeds).
Heat sesame oil in a frying pan. Pour the batter and spread it evenly. Cook on medium heat until golden brown, then flip and cook the other side until golden brown.
Cut into bite-sized pieces, plate, and serve with the sauce.
