INGREDIENTS
Dry Ingredients
- 🍚 2 cups white sugar
- 🌾 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
- 🍫 ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
- 1 ½ teaspoons baking soda
- 🧂 1 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
- 🥚 2 large eggs
- 🥛 1 cup milk
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 💧 1 cup boiling water
STEPS
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round baking pans.
Combine sugar, flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
Add eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the bowl; mix on medium speed with an electric mixer for 2 minutes.
Stir in boiling water. The batter will become thin.
Distribute the batter evenly into the prepared pans.
Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Cool the cakes in their pans for 10 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Frost with your favorite frosting and serve.
