INGREDIENTS
Dry Ingredients
- ½ cup all-purpose flour

STEPS
Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C) and gather the ingredients.
Combine flour and black pepper in a large bowl. Dredge rump roast in seasoned flour and ensure it's evenly coated. Shake off excess.
Melt butter in a large pot over medium-high heat. Brown roast in melted butter on all sides.
Place roast in a 4-quart casserole dish with lid.
Mix condensed soup, vermouth, and onion soup mix in a small bowl and pour over the roast.
Cover the dish and bake in the preheated oven for about 3 hours or until desired doneness. Check with an instant-read thermometer (minimum 145 degrees F or 63 degrees C for medium doneness).
