INGREDIENTS
Wrapper
- 15 shumai wrappers
Topping
- 🌱 15 green peas
Cooking Oil
- 1 tsp salad oil
Liquid
- 💧 80 ml water
Filling
- 🐖 200 g ground pork
- 🧅 1/2 onion, minced (100 g)
- 1 tbsp potato starch
- 1 tbsp sake
- 🍬 1 tsp sugar
- 🧂 1/2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1/2 tsp grated ginger
Sauce
- 🧂 soy sauce, as needed
- mustard, as needed
STEPS
Mince the onion finely.
In a bowl, mix all filling ingredients except the onion until sticky. Then add the onion and mix well.
Place 1/15 of the filling onto each shumai wrapper, shape into a cylindrical form, and embed a green pea in the center. Repeat for all 15 pieces.
Heat salad oil in a pan over medium heat. Arrange shumai in the pan, add water, and cover. Steam for 5–8 minutes. Remove the lid and evaporate excess water.
Serve on a plate with soy sauce and mustard as dipping sauces.
