INGREDIENTS
Crust
- 🌾 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 🧂 1/2 cup white sugar
- 🧂 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 🧈 1 cup butter or margarine
Filling
- 1 1/2 cups light corn syrup
- 🧂 1 1/2 cups white sugar
- 🥚 4 large eggs
- 🧈 3 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
- 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 🌰 2 1/2 cups chopped pecans
STEPS
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 10x15-inch jellyroll pan.
Combine flour, 1/2 cup sugar, and salt in a large bowl. Cut in 1 cup butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Press mixture into the prepared pan to form a crust. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes.
While the crust is baking, mix corn syrup, 1 1/2 cups sugar, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract in a large bowl until smooth. Stir in chopped pecans.
Spread the pecan mixture evenly over the hot crust as soon as it comes out of the oven.
Bake in the preheated oven for an additional 25 minutes until the filling is set. Let cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before slicing into bars.
