INGREDIENTS
Main Ingredients
- π§ 2 cups water
- π₯ 2 cups peeled and cubed red potatoes
- π§ 1 small onion, chopped
- π₯ 3 cups milk
- π§ 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
- π 1 cup diced ham
Seasoning and Miscellaneous
- π§ 3 tablespoons melted butter
- 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- π§ Salt and pepper to taste
- Β½ teaspoon white sugar
STEPS
Using a medium-sized stock pot, bring water to a boil. Add cubed potatoes and cook until tender. Drain, reserving 1 cup of the liquid.
In the same pot, stir in melted butter, chopped onion, and flour. Season with salt and pepper.
Gradually add potatoes, reserved cooking liquid, milk, sugar, Cheddar cheese, and diced ham. Stir well and simmer over low heat for 30 minutes, stirring frequently.
