INGREDIENTS
Vegetables
- 6 potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 4 carrots, peeled and sliced
- 🧅 1 onion, finely chopped
Dairy
- 🥛 ¼ cup milk
- 6 tablespoons butter, divided
Proteins
- 1 ½ pounds ground beef
Condiments and Sauces
- 1 (15 ounce) jar Classico® Tomato and Basil Sauce
Spices and Seasonings

- Pepper to taste
STEPS
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
In a large pot, boil potatoes and carrots in enough water to cover. Cook until tender, about 15 minutes, then drain.
Mash the drained potatoes with milk, 2 tablespoons butter, and salt and pepper, then set aside.
Melt the remaining 4 tablespoons butter in a large frying pan over medium heat, sauté onions until softened, about 10 minutes.
Increase heat to medium-high, add beef, and cook until browned. Drain excess fat and stir in tomato-basil sauce.
Place cooked carrots at the bottom of a pie dish, layer beef mixture over them, and spread mashed potatoes on top.
Bake uncovered in the oven until the internal temperature reaches 165°F, about 20 minutes.
