INGREDIENTS
Vegetables
- 🧅 1 large (1 1/2-inch) slice white onion
- 2 tablespoons finely chopped cilantro
- 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lime juice
- 1 jalapeno
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1/2 cup guacamole
Dairy
- 1/3 cup sour cream
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1/2 cups shredded Monterey Jack cheese
Condiments & Seasonings
- 2 teaspoons taco seasoning
- 🧂 1 teaspoon kosher salt, divided
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
Protein
- 1 lb ground sirloin
Bread
- 1 (12 piece-package) Hawaiian rolls
STEPS
Gather the ingredients and preheat an outdoor grill for high heat. Lightly oil the grate.
Grill vegetables: Place tomatoes, onion, and jalapeno on the grill. Cook until grill marks form (2 minutes for tomatoes/jalapeno, 1 minute additional for onion). Remove and cool slightly.
Chop grilled vegetables finely and mix with cilantro, lime juice, 1/2 tsp salt, and garlic powder to make pico de gallo.
Mix sour cream, mayonnaise, and 1 tsp taco seasoning in a bowl. Set aside.
Combine ground beef with remaining taco seasoning and form into 2 rectangular patties.
Slice Hawaiian rolls in half, toast on the grill for 1 minute, then set aside.
Grill burger patties: Cook for 4 minutes, season with remaining salt, flip, and cook for 3 more minutes. Add cheese and cook until melted (30 seconds).
Assemble sliders: Place patties on toasted buns, layer with guacamole, pico de gallo, lettuce, and sliced jalapenos. Spread sour cream sauce on bun tops and invert onto sliders.
Cut into 12 sliders. Garnish each slider with an olive, jalapeno slice, and a toothpick.
