INGREDIENTS
Main Ingredients
- 🥩 150g thinly sliced beef
- 8 shishito peppers
- đź§… 1/2 onion, sliced
- 🍚 2 bowls (400g) cooked white rice
- Pickled ginger, to taste
Cooking Oil
- 1 tbsp salad oil
Seasonings
- 🍬 1/2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tbsp sake
- 1/2 tbsp mirin
- đź§‚ 1 tbsp soy sauce
- đź’§ 60ml water
- A pinch of dashi powder
STEPS
Slice the onion thinly. Trim the stems of the shishito peppers if they are too long.
Heat salad oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Spread the beef slices in the pan and cook until both sides are browned.
Add the sliced onion to the pan and stir-fry until combined. Then, add the shishito peppers and stir briefly.
Add all the seasonings (sugar, sake, mirin, soy sauce, water, and dashi powder) to the pan. Mix well and bring to a boil. Cover with a lid, reduce to low heat, and simmer for 5 minutes.
Serve the cooked beef and vegetables over bowls of white rice. Garnish with pickled ginger.
