- 1 ½ tablespoons sour cream

STEPS
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an oval au gratin dish.
Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the elbow macaroni until tender yet firm to the bite (about 8 minutes). Drain.
Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat and stir in flour to form a smooth paste. Gradually add milk while whisking, then stir in ½ cup Cheddar cheese, sour cream, and Cajun seasoning. Combine drained macaroni and frozen shrimp into the sauce.
Pour mixture into the prepared dish. Sprinkle panko bread crumbs and 2 tablespoons shredded Cheddar cheese evenly over the top.
Bake in the oven until bubbly and golden, about 20 minutes.
