INGREDIENTS
Main Ingredients
- 1 piece fried tofu (20g)
- 300g taro
Seasonings
- š§ 1/4 tsp salt
- 2 tbsp mirin
- 1/2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1/3 tsp Japanese dashi powder
- š§ 200cc water
STEPS
Peel the taro and cut into bite-sized pieces. Rub with 1/2 tbsp salt (not listed in ingredients) in a bowl, rinse several times until water runs clear, and drain to remove sliminess.
Pat the fried tofu with paper towels to remove excess oil. Cut into thirds lengthwise, then cut each piece diagonally in half.
Place taro and enough water to cover it in a pot. Heat over medium heat and simmer for about 3 minutes.
Drain the water, add the seasonings (ā), fried tofu, and mix. Heat over medium heat until boiling, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes, occasionally shaking the pot to roll the taro.
