- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 🧅 1/3 cup onion, chopped
- 1 (16 ounce) jar sauerkraut
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1 teaspoon bacon grease
STEPS
Melt butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Quickly sear the pork chops for 2 minutes on each side, and remove them from the pan.
Reduce heat to medium, add onions, and saute for 3 minutes.
Stir in sauerkraut, beef broth, and bacon grease. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 20 minutes.
Remove bay leaf, return the pork chops to the skillet, and nestle them into the sauerkraut. Simmer just until the pork chops are warmed up, 3 to 5 minutes.
