INGREDIENTS
Fish
- 🐟 200g yellowtail fillets
Vegetables
- 4 shishito peppers
- 🍋 1/2 lemon, cut into wedges
Oil
- Enough salad oil for frying
Marinade
- 1 tbsp sake
- 1/2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1/2 tsp grated ginger
Coating
- 🌾 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp potato starch
- 1 tbsp curry powder
STEPS
Cut the yellowtail into bite-sized pieces. Make a small slit in each shishito pepper. Cut the lemon into wedges.
Mix the marinade ingredients (sake, soy sauce, ginger) in a bowl. Add the yellowtail and let it marinate for 10 minutes.
Combine the coating ingredients (flour, potato starch, curry powder) in a plastic bag. Add the marinated yellowtail and shake to coat evenly.
Heat about 2 cm of salad oil in a pot to 160°C. Quickly fry the shishito peppers until lightly cooked.
Increase the oil temperature to 170°C. Fry the yellowtail, turning occasionally, until cooked through. Plate the yellowtail, shishito peppers, and lemon wedges.
