INGREDIENTS

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 🧂 1 teaspoon salt
Fat and Liquid
- ½ cup shortening
- 🥛 ¾ cup milk
STEPS
Preheat the oven to 400°F (205°C) and grease a baking sheet.
Combine flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl. Cut shortening in until mixture has a fine crumb texture. Stir in milk with a fork to make a soft dough.
Knead dough 8 to 10 times, roll out to a thickness of at least 1/2 inch, and cut into rounds using a cookie or biscuit cutter. Place the biscuits on the greased baking sheet and let them rest for a few minutes.
Bake in the oven for 12 to 15 minutes. Serve warm, optionally buttered, and with jam or honey.
