INGREDIENTS
Protein
- 🍗 2 pieces chicken thighs (500g)
Vegetables
- đź§… 1/2 stalk green onion (80g)
Seasoning
- đź§‚ A pinch of salt and pepper
- 1 tbsp mirin
- 2 tbsp mentsuyu (3x concentrated)
Oil
- 1 tbsp salad oil
STEPS
Trim excess fat from chicken thighs and make 4 shallow cuts on the surface. Season with salt and pepper.
Cut the green onion into 4 equal pieces.
Heat salad oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Place chicken skin-side down and add green onion to the empty space. Cook chicken for 5–7 minutes until golden brown, and roll the green onion until browned. Remove the green onion.
Flip the chicken, cover with a lid, and steam-cook over medium heat for 3–5 minutes.
Wipe excess oil with a paper towel, add mirin and mentsuyu, and cook until the sauce thickens and coats the chicken.
Slice the chicken into bite-sized pieces, plate, and garnish with the cooked green onion.
