INGREDIENTS
Main
- 🧈 300g firm tofu
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- Enough vegetable oil for frying
Batter
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 💧 2 tbsp water
Miso Sauce
- 1 tbsp sake
- 🍬 1.5 tbsp sugar
- 1.5 tbsp miso
- 🌰 1 tsp ground white sesame
STEPS
Wrap the tofu in kitchen paper, place it on a microwave-safe plate, and heat at 600W for 2 minutes. Let it cool and drain the water, then cut into 4 pieces.
Mix the miso sauce ingredients in a microwave-safe container, cover loosely with plastic wrap, and heat at 600W for about 20 seconds. Stir well.
Coat the tofu pieces with flour, then dip them into the batter made of flour and water, and finally coat with breadcrumbs.
Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan to 180°C, ensuring the oil is about 2cm deep. Fry the tofu for about 2 minutes on one side, then flip and fry for another 2 minutes until golden brown.
Serve the fried tofu on a plate and drizzle with the prepared miso sauce.
