Cut the turnips into wedges and slice the leaves into 1cm pieces. Dice the onion into 1cm cubes.

Heat butter in a pot over medium heat. Add onion and bacon, sauté until the onion becomes translucent. Sprinkle flour and cook until no raw flour remains. Add turnips, turnip leaves, consomme, salt, and water. Bring to a boil, then cover and simmer on low heat for 5 minutes.

Gradually add milk while stirring. Heat over medium heat until the soup thickens.
