Trim the ends of the asparagus and peel the bottom third with a peeler. Cut them in half.

Heat butter in a frying pan over medium heat. Add asparagus and sauté until coated with butter. Add 1 tbsp of water, cover, and steam on low heat for 3–5 minutes.

Remove the lid, evaporate any remaining water, and sauté on medium heat. Season with salt and pepper.

Plate the asparagus and garnish with a wedge of lemon.
