Cut the scallops into quarters.

Thinly slice the onion and soak in water for 5–10 minutes to reduce sharpness. Drain well. Cut the avocado in half, remove the pit and skin, and dice into bite-sized pieces.

In a bowl, combine scallops, avocado, onion, salted kombu, and sesame oil. Mix gently.
